Many studies conclude that caloric restriction is inferior to the keto diet once it involves weight loss. For instance, one study split 132 people into 2 clusters: a low-carbohydrate diet (30 grams or less of carbohydrates a day) group and a calorie-restricted, diet cluster. When six months of this dietary intervention, the researchers finished that “severely corpulent subjects with a high prevalence of diabetes and also the metabolic syndrome lost a lot of weight in a very six-month amount on a carbohydrate-restricted diet than on a fat- and calorie-restricted diet.”
